Fox Company History

Fox Service Company is a locally grown service organization offering Commercial and Residential HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Refrigeration and Process Piping services.  For over 40 years we have been servicing the needs of our friends and neighbors in the Central Texas community.  Our company was built on the principles of putting our customers’ needs first and treating our employees with the respect and professionalism they deserve.

It Takes a Texan

From the trucks that we drive to the uniforms that we wear, Fox Service Company is as diverse and distinctive as the great state of Texas.  Founded by native Texan Curt Fox in 1972, Fox Service Company began operations out of a five room house on Slaughter Lane in Austin.  With only five technicians on staff providing Commercial HVAC services, Curt focused on building the company’s reputation as an unparalleled service provider throughout the late seventies.

In 1981, Charles G. Hard took over as the president and owner of Fox Service Company.  Known as “Charlie” to his friends and employees, he began his career at Fox working in the field as a Commercial HVAC technician.  In 1975, he became a service manager and assisted Curt in growing the company’s operations.  His experience working in the field as a service technician and in the office as a service manager helped Charlie understand the unique needs of Fox customers.  He used this knowledge to help expand Fox’s operations into Plumbing, Electrical and Refrigeration services, as well as into the Residential market during the eighties and nineties.  During this time, Charlie also concentrated on growing Fox’s geographical imprint by expanding into the San Antonio, Waco, Killeen, Temple and Belton areas; thus allowing Fox to emerge as one of Central Texas’ largest multi-trade service organizations.

Since 2007, Robert Nagel has served as the President and CEO of Fox Service Company.  Like Curt and Charlie before him, Robert was raised in Central Texas and continues to use his local perspective to maintain Fox’s commitment to customers, employees, and vendors.  Robert brings over 20 years of leadership experience and over 12 years of experience in the mechanical industry to Fox, and has helped reshape the company’s operational structure to focus on five key success factors – Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Efficiency, and Growth.   Robert has also continued to promote community responsibility in the Fox organization by encouraging financial giving and volunteerism with several local and national non-profit organizations.
