There are several sizes, however, the most common size is 40 gallons. If you seem to frequently "run out" of hot water, you might consider installing a one with a larger tank size - 50 or 75 gallons.
Which is better - gas or electric water heaters?
There's really not a lot of difference in them as far as dependibility goes, and your utility costs will vary with your water usage. In most cases, the decision is made by the homeowner based on what was installed originally - meaning the area where your water heater is will have either gas or electric access, but probably not both. |
